WBTV developing Sandman TV series

Fanboys, Fangirls, take a deep breath – Neil Gaiman’s iconic Sandman series might finally be coming to your small screen.

James Hibberd reports Warner Bros. TV is in the process of acquiring television rights (from sister company DC Entertainment) to Neil Gaiman’s hugely popular and critically acclaimed Sandman series.

Sandman is the story of Morpheus, the Lord of the Dreaming, a deity who personifies dreams. The series began in the horror realm but quickly made its mark in fantasy and mythology as Gaiman introduced the Endless, a group of powerful brothers and sisters that includes Destiny, Death, Destruction, Despair, Desire and Delirium (as well as Dream).

WBTV is already in talks with several writer-producers about adapting the series, most notably Eric Kripke (Supernatural).

Oh they better get this one right, or there will be a fan revolt of epic proportions – you thought Watchman was bad? Just wait…
