Sony announced today that Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) is in final negotiations to direct Total Recall, a remake of the 1990 hit (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger) that was based on the Philip K. Dick story, “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.”
Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach, the presidents of Columbia Pictures, said the film will be a new, contemporized adaptation of Total Recall. Kurt Wimmer is writing the screenplay. Neal H. Moritz will produce through his Original Film banner. Toby Jaffe will oversee production on behalf of Original Film. Columbia Pictures secured the rights to Total Recall from Miramax.
