DHD reports the role of Lisbeth Salander (for the US remake of the Stieg Larsson novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo) has finally been filled – and the winner is actress Rooney Mara (Nightmare on Elm Street, The Social Network).
She physically looks right for the part, at least, but I still don’t think anyone will be able to match Noomi Rapace’s performance as Lisbeth in the Sweedish adaptations (you can read my reviews here and here).
Noomi (below) was perfect. I almost feel bad for Rooney…
Well, time has passed. What do you think now?
I think Rooney Mara aced it. But then again, I thought Noomi Rapace was too old and had too much physical presence for the role. I’ve seen both versions and I prefer the Fincher version.
