From DHD – In a surprisingly bold move, ABC has picked up Poe, a crime procedural that follows Edgar Allan Poe, the world’s very first detective, in 1840’s Boston as he uses unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries. Hailing from Warner Bros. TV and Lin Pictures, Chris Hollier (Kyle XY) penned the project and will be supervising producer; Dan Lin will executive produce.
This project marks the second big Hollywood outing for Poe this year – the first of course being The Raven, the James McTeigue directed feature that stars John Cusak as Poe. In Sherlock Holmes style, story follows Poe as he tries to catch a murderer who is mimicking crimes from his work.
It seems 2011 is going to be the year of the macabre…
