Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy spin-off – updated

So though it feels like the beginning of the end – we all know Last Sacrifice is the last book in Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series, i.e. the last book starring Rose (sniffle), Richelle has announced a spin-off series in the Vampire Academy world that will feature four characters – and while she doesn’t want to reveal them all (it would spoil who lives or dies in Last Sacrifice) she has said that three of the characters will be…

1) Sydney (The Alchemist we met in Spirit Bound – she’ll be the narrator)

2) Jill (The moroi who makes a splash in Last Sacrifice)

3) Eddie (Finally this dhampir cutey gets some spotlight)

And… The last of the four remains an unnamed love interest (though it’s easy to guess if you’ve read Last Sacrifice)

The new series kicks off August 2011 with Bloodline – and Richelle has said that there will be a Rose cameo at some point.

Now doesn’t that help ease the sting? :)
