Veteran producer Dino De Laurentiis (Manhunter, U-571) has acquired the rights to the entire series of James Rollins’ Sigma Force novels (six in all so far, with a seventh on the way). Rollins started the series back in 2004. The most recent novel, published earlier this year, made the New York Times Bestseller List. The “Sigma Force” books follow a “division of the U.S. Department of Defense’s DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) program housed beneath the Smithsonian in D.C. Staffed by a collection of “killer scientists” (adventurous scientists paired with military operatives), the Force investigates and secures threatening scientific information through counter-terrorism, research and covert ops.” Sources indicate that the film version will tell a new story with an eye on developing a franchise.

I just finished reading THE LAST ORACLE today. I had earlier read MAP OF BONES and I also have SANDSTORM and THE BLACK ORDER in the waiting! I’m really thrilled by his novels and each one educates you in a very unique way about history, science and technology in our modern world…Keep them coming…James Rollins!
