Sherlock Holmes is back, in a contemporary version of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic, starring Benedict Cumberbatch (The Last Enemy) and Martin Freeman (The Office, UK). PBS premiered the first episode this past weekend at New York Comic-con, and the internet was a-buzz with delight. Of course, since Doctor Who veterans Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are behind the new adaptation, it’s fair to say the audience was more than a little biased. Still, the series already aired in the U.K., where it was such a hit the BBC ordered another season, so I think it’s safe to say this series is going to be a heck of a lot of fun.
Sherlock premieres on Masterpiece Mystery October 24th!
This was a great series and my wife and I are eagerly waiting for the next series.
3 new episodes, coming this fall! (To the BBC, anyway – I’m not sure when PBS’ll get them, but hopefully it will be this year…)
