McNab, a former SAS, commanded the highly decorated Bravo Two Patrol during the Gulf War. He was the British Army’s most highly decorated serving soldier when he retired from SAS in 1993. He wrote about his real-life experiences in Bravo Two Zero (1993) and Immediate Action (1995), both bestsellers. From there McNab turned to fiction and his first Nick Stone novel,  Remote Control was hailed as the most authentic thriller ever written. The series now spans 7 books, and all feature Nick Stone, a tough ex-SAS operative working as a ‘K’ on deniable operations for British Intelligence.
