Yowza. DHD reports David Goyer, Hollywood’s go-to genre guy (The Dark Knight, Blade, Jumper, Flash Forward), has made a seven figure deal with Warner Brothers for the film rights to the three Sci Fi novels he’s writing with Michael Cassutt. The first book, Heaven’s Shadow, will be published by Ace in 2011 with the following installments, Heaven’s War and Heaven’s Fall published summer 2012 and 2013 respectively. As part of the deal, Goyer will write the screenplay for the first novel and produce through his Phantom Four banner
Heaven’s Shadow begins when an object is discovered heading for earth. Initial panic gives way to a competition between governments to be first to intercept what they believe is a breakaway meteor. What the astronauts discover leads to an encounter with alien forces that are a threat to humanity.
