Seth Grahame-Smith lands Dark Shadows gig

From DHD: The writer who brought us Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies continues his genre rampage – Seth Grahame-Smith is set to write the new draft of Dark Shadows, the feature remake of the 1960s Gothic daytime serial, for Johnny Depp to star in and Tim Burton to direct. The long simmering project is scheduled to finally start production in April. Depp’s Infinitum Nihil and Graham King’s GK Films are producing for Warner Brothers.

Dark Shadows originally ran on ABC from 1966-1971, and had legions of fans. Depp will be taking on the juicy role of vampire Barnabas Collins, played by Jonathan Frid in the TV series
