Metal Hurlant gets live action adaptation

From Variety and CBR – Publisher Les Humanoïdes Associés has partnered with French DVD house We Prods. to produce Metal Hurlant Chronicles, a live-action TV skein based on the eponymous French anthology of science fiction and horror comics, created back in 1974 by Jean Giraud (aka Moebius), and Philippe Druillet.

Directed by Guillaume Lubrano, co-founder of We Prods., each half-hour will be shot in English and French and follow one or two stories adapted from the original anthology. The first two seasons, each comprising 12 episodes, will be delivered next January. The company has pre-sold the show in more than 20 territories, including Italy, Germany, Poland and Russia, and is currently negotiating with a French TV channel and a U.S. distributor.

Pilot’s two parts, “Red Light” and “Cold Hard Facts,” star David Belle (The Prince of Persia), and Jean Yves Berteloot (The Da Vinci Code).
