From THR – Colleen Houck, much like Amanda Hocking before her, has become the epitome of a self-publishing success story. First the popularity of her self published YA fantasy novel, Tiger’s Curse, caught the eye of Sterling Publishing, who then picked up the series (there will be five books in total). Then after Sterling re-released Tiger’s Curse, the book hit the New York Times bestseller list, and now Hollywood has come to call. Ineffable Pictures has optioned Houck’s Tiger’s Curse series, with plans to to start production on the first book within the next two years.
Tiger’s Curse follows teen Kelsey Hayes as she endeavors to break a 300-year-old Indian curse with an enigmatic white tiger named Ren. Facing dark forces and spellbinding magic in a mystical world where nothing is what it seems, Kelsey risks everything to piece together an ancient prophecy that could break the curse forever.
Meanwhile the hotly anticipated third book in the series, Tiger’s Voyage, hits shelves November 1.

Oh dear. Oh dear indeed. I liked the concept behind this one, but the book itself was my greatest reading challenge since Solzhenitsyn. I really hope this one works better as a film than a novel!
