Masterpiece Mystery migrates to Thursday nights

If you faithfully tuned in Sunday night for Masterpiece Mystery, only to be baffled and bewildered when it was nowhere to be found at 9 PM, here’s the reason why – your PBS affiliate has migrated Masterpiece Mystery to Thursday nights at 9 PM. Yes, Thursday’s prime time real estate just got even more crowded.

So if you did miss last week, Masterpiece is now airing series two of Wallander. Based on the novels by Hanning Mankell, Wallander stars Kenneth Branagh as the brilliant, tortured detective who battles crime and his own personal demons in the seaside town of Ystad, Sweden.

Given the affiliate differences, I can’t be absolutely certain, but tonight’s episode will most likely be”The Man Who Smiled” – a suspicious car accident and a friend’s suicide lead Wallander into an international conspiracy that threatens countless innocent lives. He is helped by a disgraced former colleague.

And if you’ve missed an episode or two due to this scheduling silliness, never fear – for a limited time, you can watch Wallander online here.

Oh, PBS. Why must you constantly move things around…
