From DHD – A retelling of Shakespeare’s classic tale of star crossed lovers has landed at ABC, with Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) in talks to direct. Interestingly enough, this isn’t a modern take – it will be set in Renaissance Verona. Todd Garner (Paul Blart: Mall Cop) and Wyck Godfrey & Marty Bowen (Dear John) are behind the series adaptation, which is being written by Andrea Berloff (World Trade Center).
Well, in the realm of would-be Twilights, at least this is a classy entry – still, it’s not like we don’t all know how it ends…
