From DHD – Steven Spielberg is taking on the robots. Next up after War Horse it’s another book to screen adaptation for Spielberg – based on the novel by Daniel H. Wilson, Robopocalypse is an epic sci-fi story about the human race’s attempt to survive an apocalyptic robot uprising. Adapted by Drew Goddard (Cloverfield, Lost), Spielberg will start filming January 2012. Disney’s Touchstone will distribute in 2013.
Here’s hoping for a return of old school Spielberg form – I’d hate to see this turn into another War of the Worlds. Well, at the very least it should be better than I, Robot…
Robopocalypse the novel will be published by Doubleday in June 2011.
